Making my first Million

This blog will be dedicated to my expedition in search of my first million.

In my early twenties when I returned home after spending two years in Russia as a church missionary, I decided to make a million dollars and retire by the time I was 30. Now at 26 (as of Sept. 22) I am closer and on target to make it. I would like to spend a few minutes each day and post my progress. I think maybe others will be interested in the subject.

Some people may think that my million dollar goal is presumptuous or unrealistic, but there is a method to the maddness. After I spent two years serving others in Russia, I relized that I am addicted. I decided that I would dedicate the next ten years to learning languages, sports, and musical instruments while working to earn a million dollars. Once I reach the million dollar mark, I will live on the interest and live for three to five years in a place where my wife and I find a need that we can serve. We will live extremely frugally and spend as much of the interest proceeds as we can giving opportunities to others.

Of course, I would not want to do this on my own. My wife has joined me in this quest. We have two children and hope that this life of service will teach them by example the values of charity, hard work, and dedication better than words ever could alone.

I hope this will be fun to read and also may be informative. I will have to do some make-up writing to summerize the past five years as we have endeavored to create wealth and raise a family without losing sight of our goals.

Ryan, it's Ryan from some of your classes from college. It's good to see that you're still working and on your journey to a million. Keep it up! If you don't remember me, my wife has a blog for us at ryanandtrianna.blogspot.com. Check it out. Take care!
